17/04: International Day for the Freedom of Palestinian Prisoners

With the hunger strike in prisons and seeking international solidarity, Palestinian prisoners are an example of how to fight for the freedom of all political prisoners!

Today is the International Day of the Palestinian Prisoner in remembrance of the more than 850,000 Palestinians who have gone through prisons controlled by the Zionist state of Israel during the last half century of occupation. It is about 40% of adult men, that is, one-fifth of the population of Palestine.

Thousands of Palestinian prisoners have started an indefinite hunger strike on Monday 17/04 to protest against the conditions of detention they are on behalf ofthe fascist state of Israel. Among the claims they raise is the suspension of administrative detention and detention in isolation cells; The installation of a telephone booth in each prison gallery and an increase in family visits, allowing inmates to even be photographed with their loved ones.

It should be recalled that more than 7,000 Palestinians are currently held in Zionist prisons, including 300 minors and more than 62 women. Among the detainees, there are also more than 23 terminally ill patients.
Meanwhile, half a thousand prisoners are subject to the so-called administrative detention regime - without formal accusation - indefinitely. It is the cover of the fascist Zionist state of Israel to hide their abduction of the brave Palestinian fighters.
In administrative detention, the Palestinians do not know where they are being held or what they are accused of, they are continuously tortured and do not even have a right to a doctor. The Zionist officials decide the length of time for the arrest, which is generally six months and extends indefinitely without cause. This happens again and again until in reality they have spent many years in administrative detention without charge, no trial and no explanation.
Dozens and dozens of them are also being held in prisons of the Palestinian National Authority for fighting for the right to end the Zionist occupation.

It is a task of the entire international labor movement to fight for the freedom of all political prisoners in the world, and first of all for the freedom of Palestinian prisoners imprisoned for facing that real enclave of imperialism in the region, the fascist Zionist state of Israel.
The Palestinian people have an enormous willingness to fight against the occupation forces and fight relentlessly to regain their lands.
This April 17 is a very important day for the Palestinian people, who remain hostage to the Zionist occupation and suffer a constant wave of murders and martyrdoms, while the Zionist settlers are advancing in demolishing their homes by throwing them out of their land.
This has to change, Palestinian prisoners and all political prisoners in the world must leave prisons and the powerful, oppressors, those who persecute our people, those who kill us and imprison us for fighting for bread, Freedom and national independence, must be the ones  who suffer their deserved and fill the prisons.
All of us believe that against global injustice it must oppose the globalization of the struggle.

That is why this April 17 we call for actions for the freedom of the Palestinian prisoners and all the persecuted and imprisoned fighters in the world.

For the freedom of Georges Abdallah who has been more than 32 years in the prisons of the French imperialist government for  defending the Palestinian cause.
The more than 400 Basque prisoners locked up in the prisons of the Bourbons and the Fifth French Republic.

For the freedom of Alfon, Andrés Bódalo and the acquittal of the hundreds of processed by the Mordaza law of the Spanish State and its Kings.
For the acquittal of the oil workers of Las Heras, Argentina, Down with  the all the charges of the more than 7000 prosecuted fighters. For the hundreds of dead young people like DaríoSantillan and MaximilianoKosteki assassinated for fighting and who are still crying out for justice.


To stop the massacre against the peoples who revolt against hunger, injustice and plunder as in Syria, Yemen, Palestine and all the Maghreb and Middle East.
We stand with the rebellious youth who, like in Palestine, neither surrender nor sell out and fight bravely even from prisons, while Syriza's government has condemned them to more than 300 years in prison.
We will warmly accompany the families of the 43 missing students in Mexico, the women of Marikana miners who still cry out for justice, and demand the release of political prisoners like LeonelManzano Sosa and many other prisoners in Mexico, for the hundreds of prisoners in Egypt, Tunisia and all over the world. We will demand the freedom of Mumia Abu Jamal and justice for the young blacks brutally murdered in the United States. This day we will be with all of them.

To fight alongside the refugees who are received by the workers and the poor people of Europe their brothers, this 17/04 we will make our voice heard.
This day we will cry out for all the fighters in the world to become spokesmen for the Palestinian nation's claim to end the Zionist occupation and the massacre and imprisonment of its people.
Today more than ever we fight for that day to be celebrated in all the countries of the world and we can all together raise our voice and fight united against the oppressors and to unite our fight to the fight of all oppressed of the world.
We all have the same enemies: the big transnationals, the financial oligarchies and their warring states, massacring and pillaging all the peoples they dominate.
In occupied Palestine they have been locked in ghettos and our best sons have been killed or are in the prisons of Zionism.
When in Palestine children, youth and women stand up for their rights and against occupation, they declare them to be criminals like they do to all the oppressed workers and peoples of the world who are fighting for their liberation.
Freedom to all who fight! Judgment and punishment of all the repressors and murderers of the workers and the people!

For the destruction of the fascist Zionist state of Israel! For a free, secular, democratic and non-racist Palestine, with capital in Jerusalem!
