The workers of the “From the Grassroots” block of the Rio Santiago Shipyard in Argentina sent their solidarity with the oil workers of Las Heras and the persecuted workers of the world
"Only the workers united worldwide are going to free our prisoners and achieve justice for our martyrs"
Alejandro Villarruel, prosecuted for fighting
“We, who are speaking, comrades, are members of the block ‘From the bases’ of the Rio Santiago Shipyard. Who’s speaking to you now is comrade Alejandro Villarruel, prosecuted since the last huge fight we waged in the factory against the Vidal government. On the International Day of Persecuted Workers, we want to greet and send a fraternal hug to the comrades and their families, to the comrades of Las Heras, to the oil workers who have given us this day of struggle to all the workers of the world to defend ourselves. Together with the entire international vanguard, they achieved a great struggle against the State for their freedom. And we keep waging it, because if the comrades win, we all win.
Acquittal for the comrades of Las Heras and freedom for them! The same as we ask for freedom for our comrades Daniel Ruiz, Sebastián Romero, for Arakaki and Ponce, for our comrades on the Eastern Bus Line of La Plata and for those from the port (of Buenos Aires). We also fight against the decision of striping the SITTAN comrades and Mauricio Melián from their union inmunity.
We also salute the comrades who fight in prisons against the Iranian regime of the Ayatollahs, those who fight for a free, secular and democratic Palestine, those who confront the regime of al-Assad and Putin and the US imperialists in Syria and Libya.
And we do not want to forget in this day of international struggle the heroic young people of Greece who faced the repression of the Troika and today are in prisons.
The Stalinist regimes of those that have became nouveau riche, as in Cuba, beat up and persecute the youth. A hug for the Cuban youth that raises a voice of freedom, together with the Chinese workers and youth who ask for freedom and justice and for socialism to return! "
Juan Roman, shop steward
“I am Juan Roman, delegate of the Río Santiago Shipyard workers. We are sending this video because we feel part of the struggle of the Las Heras comrades. We are for their acquittal. The same enemy that they faced is the same that all workers have.
We have also had prisoners and prosecuted ones. Here it is comrade Alejandro Villarruel, currently on trial for speaking at a general assembly. And the entire working class worldwide that has fought has been filled with prisoners and prosecuted.
We also want to name the youth, who struggle in Latin America and also have their prisoners and prosecuted, and in particular mention the students of the University of Río Negro and Córdoba, and tell them that only the workers united worldwide are going to free them. We will do justice for our martyrs. Be strong, comrades, we are with you! "
