December 12th: International Day of the Persecuted Worker
Solidarity message on the International Day of the Persecuted Worker, 12/12
Greetings in Solidarity from us, fellow workers at David Whitehead Textiles in Zimbabwe.
We come in solidarity with you as we're undergoing the same fate as other persecuted workers around the globe.
The International Day ignited by the oil workers of Las Heras has brought unity and oneness of purpose among workers around the globe.
The struggle that was set up seven years ago continues to gather momentum and force to this day.
Other troubled workers in the same predicament are also remembered on this day.
Our struggle for labour justice has been going on for more than a decade now with no end in sight. Around the world, workers are continuously being brutally treated and sometimes condemned to inhuman treatment.
We add our voice to the unending voices calling for an end to this harsh treatment on workers. We call for unequivocal fair treatment and labour practices towards fellow workers who may be undergoing such trauma.
On our part, we have strong hope that one day justice will be done.
An injury to one is an injury to us all.
Let's not be distracted in our endeavor to seek justice for the worker. Their families, friends and like-minded people are part of the struggle. We feel humbled by their support.
We pray that brutal treatment and persecution will soon be thrown down the annals of history.
A new dawn is surely beckoning for every worker around the globe.
Aluta Continua!
