Statement by the Coordinator for the Freedom of Political Prisoners October 18 (Chile) for the "Day of the Persecuted Worker December 12"

As Coordinator Body for the Freedom of the political prisoners October 18 from the territory dominated by the State of $hile, we extend a solidarity and fraternal greeting to all the prisoners standing up for struggle and resistance, in times where the social democracy seeks to convince us that institutionalism is the solution to the terrible capitalism that they force us to inhabit. We also embrace all those around the globe who believe that permanent struggle and dispute is the way to carry out our otherworldly intentions.

In this territory we are not alien to prison and political persecution, we have been leaving behind a period of revolt where power was let down with fury on those who demonstrated and took action against it. One of these forms was the political imprisonment of many comrades throughout the entire territory. Unfortunately, this reality is not alien or new to us, we have subversive comrades, anarchists, Mapuche and historical people who have been wandering for years in the terrible prison system and despite the intention of making them give up, they are firm in their conviction and in permanent dispute with the gendarmes.

In Wallmapu, the colonial state that allows the devastation of the territory has also used political prison to intimidate processes of territorial recovery and resistance of the Mapuche people, as well as in the territory dominated by the State of Argentina.

We know of the situation of the Argentinean comrade oil workers of Las Heras who are condemned for fighting, who have been in resistance for 8 years and are seeking international solidarity to achieve their acquittal. In solidarity with them, the "International Day of the Persecuted Worker" is commemorated. Of course our warm and fraternal embrace and greetings to each one of you and your families, we know that only with the fight over the borders and at the international level will we be able to conquer their freedom, and that of the political prisoners who are in the prisons of $hile, Colombia, Syria and the freedom of all fighters who are in the dirty prisons around the world.

On either side of the mountain range, we will not surrender to the governments that persecute us, imprison us to perpetuate their exploitation, domination and oppression on us.
