December 12:
International Day of Struggle
for the Persecuted Worker
Pablo Pimentel, member of the Permanent Assembly for Human Rights of La Matanza
“Good morning. My name is Pablo Pimentel. I belong to Human Rights Permanent Assembly (APDH)-La Matanza, Argentina. Today, December 9, 2021, I want to send my greetings to all the workers of Las Heras who were unfairly convicted to life imprisonment for something they didn’t do. However, they did demand for their labour rights and, within that frame, something happened for which they were blamed.
On this, from APDH-La Matanza, we presented an amicus cureae to the Supreme Court of Santa Cruz province, which was accepted, and we are waiting for the object of that amicus cureae to be resolved. Our salutation, solidarity and acknowledgement for those families and the resistance.
We tell them we reaffirm our commitment to get the definitive acquittal. We send you a warm hug from Ciudad Evita, Buenos Aires.”
