Persian and Arab Iranian Workers Together Face Ayatollahs' Theocratic Regime
While the ayatollahs continue to live like kings, they throw the whole crisis on the workers, with inflation, devaluation, shortages, layoffs, precarious jobs and even months that the workers do not receive their wages.
The coronavirus has already claimed the lives of more than 12,000 people, and now there is a second wave of infections and deaths, which have more than tripled from the beginning of May to more than 200 a day and the health system has collapsed. Therefore, the quarantine continues, but without work and without food, which makes the situation already unbearable for the exploited.
Faced with this situation, tens of thousands of workers from different sectors throughout Iran, such as municipal workers, truck drivers, sugar producers and also ruined peasants, go out to fight with strikes, pickets and mobilizations.
Likewise, thousands of health workers marched to the ministry for their low wages, against precarious contracts for temporary jobs and against the terrible conditions in which medical centers are working, which means a high risk of contagion from coronavirus.
For their part, more than 3,000 workers at the Kerman Coal Company have carried out strikes and intermittent pickets at three sites: Ravar, Kuhbanan and Zarand, as the government wants to sell the shares of the state-owned company to private sectors, putting jobs at risk. In addition to fighting privatization, they demanded higher wages, security measures and the end of precarious contracts.
Across the country, thousands and thousands of workers have gone into combat. They struggle to collect their wages in arrears for months, both in state and private companies. They fight against the privatizations of the state companies and for the freedom of the prisoners, challenging the murderous dictatorship of the Iranian theocracy, which does nothing but enrich itself.
In this fight, the Persian, Arab, Lors, Fars and all the minorities who are inside Iran are together, because the conditions of hunger and misery are no longer bearable, anywhere. That is why strikes, pickets and mobilizations are already widespread through out Iran.
