Support the protests and strikes of the workers of Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Complex!
Dear compatriots!
The exploited workers of the Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Complex are on strike protesting against privatization, the violation of salaries, the suspension of workers, repression, arrest of labour leaders and the embezzlement and looting of public property, which has been going on for more than a month. The Arab, Lor, Fars and Bakhtiari workers are united together in the protest against the tyranny of the rulers. They went on strike, rallied and marched across the city, demanding their inalienable rights. This is not the first time that these brave and militant workers have entered the struggle for their rights and challenged the policies of the corrupt regime of the Islamic Republic. We have already witnessed violent protests and strikes by our country's workers, which in most cases have been met with repression, arrest and imprisonment of a large number of worker activists and labour leaders, such as Ismail Bakhshi, Mohammad Khanifar and others.
The huge Haft Tappeh sugarcane complex is ailing, like other manufacturing companies in the country. The complex, which has the ability and capacity to produce hundreds of thousands of tons of sugar, is not able to produce even a small amount of its actual capacity due to the policies of the decaying government of the Islamic Republic. Naturally, the result of these policies is the chaos of production and job insecurity for the thousands of workers whose livelihoods depend on work and production in this complex.
Institutionalized corruption in all the pillars of the ruling system, which exists in all areas of Iran's socio-economic and political activities, is clearly manifested in the policy of transferring manufacturing enterprises to the ruling elites at the lowest possible prices. The policy of “privatization”, which is heavily tainted with embezzlement and dividend-seeking, has led to the destruction of the country's industries and spread poverty among the broad masses of workers and exploited.
At the same time, the government puts pressure on workers to prevent the formation of unions and independent workers organizations, preventing the existence of existing unions and banning the formation of new unions. Workers' strikes and protests are not recognized, and labour activists are arrested, tried and imprisoned on striking and security charges.
It is in this context that the workers of Haft Tappeh have protested and set foot on the battlefield, and although their demands are generally unionists, they are well aware that even achieving these minimums requires fundamental changes in the country's political structure. This means that as long as the black rule of the Islamic Republic endures, nothing but pain, suffering, poverty and misery will be for the people of Iran.
The experience of the struggles and large-scale protests of the workers of Haft Tappeh, including Arabs, Lors, Persians, etc., who have stood together and united against the oppression of the corrupt rulers, shows us an example and a model that is the only way out of the impasse. The Islamic Republic has ruled the lives of all Iranian nationalities and it is a joint and purposeful struggle to overthrow this oppressive regime. Only then can we get rid of this source of corruption and achieve equality, freedom and social justice, and a decent and human life.
While expressing our support for the fair struggles of the Haft Tappeh sugarcane workers, we call on all workers and exploited throughout Iran, as well as all democratic, progressive and freedom-loving political forces, to join and support the ongoing struggles of the Haft Tappeh workers in any possible way.
Long live the rightful struggles of the Haft Tappeh sugarcane workers!
