March 8th: International Working Women's Day
Long live the international strike of working women!
This is how we fight against imperialism! The transnational companies have no borders to attack us
Working women show that there should be no borders to fight against them!
Last March 8th, the 2nd international women's strike, millions of us took to the streets around the world, fighting for our fair demands as decent wages against wage inequality and unpaid domestic work, for the right to safe, legal, free and quality abortion, against femicides, confronting the bosses, their governments, regimes and states, the church and its pedophile priests and this capitalist system that oppresses and super-exploits us. This year the slogans of this struggle were "If our lives are not worth, produce without us", "If we stop, the world stops" and "What they call love, it is unpaid work".
Huge women's mass actions shook the whole world. In the Spanish State, women carried out enormous strikes and more than 200 demonstrations throughout the country. In France the women came out to strike at 3:40 pm, the time where they start working for free as they receive a different wage compared to men. InItaly there were also strikes and demonstrations, as in several cities of Europe. It happened also in the US, as in San Francisco, Atlanta and New York, where 110 years ago, in 1908, 129 workers of the Cotton Textile Factory were massacred by the bosses.
In Latin America, the struggle of working women in Argentina was impressive, giving this day a higher content, raising demands against the capitalists, the government of Macri and the murderous state, following the revolutionary days December 18-19 that shook the country. In Peru, while employers were carrying on a common demonstration with the trade union bureaucracy of Patria Roja and the CP, guarded by the police of the Fujimorist regime, the women workers organized in another mobilization shouting along Lima downtown, "Working women are not exploiters!" And in Chile again there were tens of thousands of women who demonstrated in Santiago and many cities in the country.
Meanwhile, demonstrations were massive in Turkey, mainly in Istanbul, but also on Syrian border, fighting in support of Syrian refugees and the more than 6,000 imprisoned women in the fascist al-Assad's jails. There, they are daily tortured and raped. This demonstration adds to the huge mass mobilization that took place days ago in Idlib, Syria, where thousands of oppressed women mobilized against the massacre of Bashar the dog, Putin and Trump at the cry of: "We are not going out from here! Let the young people come to fight! Let the fronts be opened and let the brigades join in a single combat! We want the regime to fall! "
Meanwhile in Iran, the women marched removing the veils, challenging the counterrevolutionary theocracy of Ayatollahs that under the pretext of the “Islamic law” they impose repression on women and all the exploited with iron hand.
This way, working women around the world fight again as they fought on May Day, the International Workers Day, at the end of the 19th century, when the working class did worldwide general strikes fighting for the "martyrs of Chicago "and the 8-hour workday.
These large masses actions of the 8M could only be guaranteed, unifying and coordinating the working woman, against employers who have all their problems solved and only defend their businesses and profits based on the triple exploitation of the working women and the super-exploitation of the whole working class. This time, working women mark our imprint all over the world, giving a class content and combat to this 8M, imposing a day of international struggle, fighting with our own methods: the strike against the bosses.
Against the union bureaucracies, the workers' aristocracies and the social-imperialist parties that divide the struggles against the oppressors country by country and guarantee the triple exploitation and the oppression against working women, one of the most super-exploited sectors of the world working class(the working woman) has come out to fight. Long live militant internationalism! This is the way to fight!
As the Trotskyist Transitional Program, the foundational program of the Fourth International of1938 says:Opportunist organizations by their very nature concentrate their chief attention on the top layers of the working class and therefore ignore both the youth and the women workers. The decay of capitalism, however, deals its heaviest blows to the woman as a wage earner and as a housewife. The sections of the Fourth International should seek bases of support among the most exploited layers of the working class; consequently, among the women workers. Here they will find inexhaustible stores of devotion, selflessness and readiness to sacrifice.
Down with the bureaucracy and careerism! Open the road to the youth! Open de road to the woman worker!
Around the whole world: we have to fight like women on 8M! That is the way to defeat the plans of attack and the relaxation of labourrights in the whole world!
One single class, one single struggle, one same enemy: the imperialist parasites and their governments and regimes!
For the working woman and the whole working class to live, imperialism must die!
