From Hebrón… New martyrs in Hebrom The West Bank-Hebrom. The latest news spreads quickly on Friday December 11, a day to rest for the muslism people. From time before, in Palestine every Friday has been a day of rage where after praying in the mosque people demonstrate against the Zionist occupation. This Friday was different. The first news in the early morning was that there is a new martyr, Isa Harub, who was in his car. He was detained and according to some witnesses: “we have seen the car parked and we have witnessed when he was getting out of his car, he received 15 bullets”. He was in the town Jal Jul at the north of Hebrom.
Some hours later, the Hebron streets were crowded for Uday Irsheid, 22 years old, who has been shot while he was in the streets with his friends. Uday was the brother of Dania, a 17-year-old-young assassinated at cold blood in the check point near the main mosque in Hebron in October. In the West Bank, the Palestinians know that during the latest months one of their brother, neighbor, friend o parents have been killed by the occupation forces or any settler. According to official numbers, from October till now there have been 121 Palestinians killed…the cause is that they don’t surrender before the occupation and fight for their freedom. This Friday, the day of rage in Hebron started with the funeral of a new martyr. Thousands demonstrated in the main city streets: Parents, small children, friends of the killed young. While they marched they chanted for the intifada and against the occupation. The corpse was carried by his loved ones, and his father that once again was mourning one more children. After the ceremony the youngest ones went to one of the center in the city. There, they expressed their hatred and pain.
But, there is a cloud of smoke due to the tear gas that provoked that many of us moved away and we divided in groups of 8-10 people in various corners to protect us from the bullets that the fascist soldiers shot. A young was injured. We were one hour but the tear gas was strong and the youth little by little were moving away. They knew this was not the last time they would be in that trench against the occupation forces in a direct confrontation. Pamela Parson, |
