The unemployed woman workers of Mosconi have returned to block Route 34 since the little hours of today, as they had voted on Saturday morning by dawn when they had to clear the road blocking they were carrying forward to reaffirm and maintain their claim for urgent payment of their wages. Long live the struggle of these hardworking woman workers!
The response of the government of Urtubey came swiftly. Like last Friday and once more in coordination with the Macri national government, they sent agents of the provincial police and the national gendarmerie just when the comrades began to organize along the route. The bourgeoisie has had always in mind the phantom of the revolutionary struggle of the piqueteros of the North of Salta that in 2001 put in question their property, even more as the number of unemployed in Argentina increases day by day and there exist in the country a million and a half more workers below the poverty rate since the beginning of the Macri government.
Far from being intimidated, the woman workers with the accompaniment of a sector of unemployed male workers and young people resumed their heroic method of fighting in their struggle of 2001, and stood two pickets: the "Northern picket" with the majority of female comrades and the “Southern picket" to which the unemployed male workers joined. With enormous firmness and determination, all of them rose to block the route once more. That's how one must fight! Police and gendarmerie forces were forced to put up with workers blocking the entire road, in one-hour shifts, all day long.
Face the government's proposal to cite them to Salta city (capital of Salta province, 346 km or 215 miles to the south) to open an instance of negotiation, a list of complaints was discussed with the method of assembly and workers' democracy and two representatives were voted for every picket to attend tomorrow the instances of negotiation in the Ministry of Solidarity in Salta city. The struggle won’t stop until the demands of the workers are won. It will continue with a camp to the side of the route waiting for an answer and reaffirming with all their force that of the result of the talks not being favorable they will again block the route.
An urgent assembly of all the employed and unemployed workers in the area is necessary, and the Departmental Coordinator must stand up again under the program of the 21 points of the piqueteros in the North of Salta. The UTD (Unemployed workers Union) must lead this fight and put itself at the head of the woman workers' struggle. These brave workers shouldn’t be alone for another minute!
Enough of union and piquetera bureaucracies that give a truce to the government while they divide the ranks of the workers! For the unity of the employed and unemployed workers!
It’s necessary to fight again like in 2001! We must fight again for the program of 21 points, for decent jobs for all and against the imperialist transnationals that plunder the nation!
Enough of hunger, misery and repression! For a Plan of struggle and General Strike!
