Abu Al Baraa fell in Syria 4 years ago, in the fight to break the siege of Aleppo, together with thousands of militiamen and partisans. They were facing the fascist government of al-Assad, who was supported by the butcher Putin, with the skies cleared by the US and NATO. They were fighting then on the offensive as they do today, by the thousands, in heroic resistance.
A courageous and revolutionary youth did not submit then nor yet submit today to the Sunni bourgeoisie and their bourgeois generals-without-a-battle, who sold out from within, one by one, the rebel cities of Syria.
He fought alongside the Kurdish people for the right to self-determination, but faced their pro-imperialist bourgeois leadership that made a pact with the assassin al-Assad and placed itself under the orders of the more than 10 US imperialists' bases in northern Syria.
The revolutionary wing organized forces in the midst of the civil war so that it would be the workers and poor peasants, with their coordinating committees, councils and shoras, who took military control of the war, to fire the most powerful missile to break the enemies, which is none other than expropriating the banks, the big capitalists, the millionaire bourgeoisie of the bazaar, so that the people have bread, land and freedom.
Those tasks are unfinished in Syria and in all the Maghreb and Middle East revolutions. To continue this fight, which will only succeed with the victory of the socialist revolution, is our challenge and our honor as revolutionaries.
Tribute to Abu Al Baraa, founder of the newspaper "The Truth of the Oppressed" from Syria and the Middle East
There will be no forgetting nor forgiveness!
In honor of all the comrades that fell while fighting in the Syrian revolution under the banners of the international socialist revolution against the fascist Al Assad!
More than 600 thousand sons and daughters of the people murdered, in a true genocide... More than 15 million refugees in open air concentration camps ... Tens of thousands of tortured, murdered and disappeared in the jails of the fascist al-Assad, which far outweigh the most nefarious Nazi torturers... This is the barbarism imposed by the Assadist counterrevolution and its bosses, US imperialism, Putin and Erdogan, who have invaded and partitioned Syria.
Abu Al Baraa, founder of Syrian Trotskyism
There will be no forgetting nor forgiveness in the face of such selling out and betrayal of a heroic revolution!
There will be no forgetting and there will only be condemnation in the face of the complicity and silence of all currents of the Islamophobic and Stalinist social-imperialist left which, associated to al-Assad, supported his massacre in Syria and applaud the murder of millions of workers and poor peasants and, how could it be otherwise, also of the revolutionary socialists!
The flags of the Fourth International were in the trench they should be.
The banners of reformism and the traitors of socialism remained in the trench of the imperialist powers and their agents, the fascist al-Assad and the hitman Putin.
The Syrian revolution is not over. It is resisting… and going on the offensive in new revolutions in the Maghreb and the Middle East, such as in Lebanon and Iraq; or fighting in the resistance as in Iran and Palestine.
A new generation of young workers today demands that their treacherous leaderships explain why they supported and sustained al-Assad and Putin... at the Geneva conference, who under the command of the US imperialists and Turkey, planned a brutal cold-blooded crushing of the heroic Syrian revolution.
They will do justice. They are the ones who are coming out in new revolutionary waves of the working class and the rebellious youth in New York, Paris, Santiago de Chile, Kyrgyzstan, Indonesia, Nigeria...
Theirs, and only theirs, is the legacy of our comrade, dear friend and leader of the International Trotskyist Leninist Fraction (FLTI), Mahmoud.
Abu Al Baraa, until socialism always!
Long live the Fourth International!
